Missions
From the beginning, Neshanic Reformed Church embraced the task of bringing God’s message to the community and the world by sharing our time, talents and resources with those in need.
Part of the Christian life is sharing; not only our resources but our faith. The Neshanic Reformed Church is committed to sharing God’s love with all, near and far.
Crossroads4Hope (formerly Cancer Support Community of Central New Jersey): This organization helps all those touched by cancer to move through a health crisis to become active and empowered, taking control of their health and wellbeing. Crossroads4Hope’s network of support embraces all people touched by cancer—the diagnosed and their loved ones—providing access to resources and evidence-based programs of support, education, wellbeing, and hope. Christian Nurturing Center Preschool Scholarship Fund: At times, families attending our church preschool are in need of financial assistance to cover the cost of tuition. This fund provides assistance to families who may have otherwise been turned away. Christian Nurturing Center is an outreach of Neshanic Reformed Church since 1993, providing a Christian environment where children have the opportunity to learn and practice social and developmental skills through games, music, literature, free play and age-appropriate educational lessons. We hope the children come to realize the importance of God and worship in their lives.
NRC Greater Community Assistance Program (GAP): This fund is supported several times a year and is managed by the Deacons of the Consistory. It is designed to allow NRC to help those in immediate need of financial support during special times.
Visions and Pathways: During the holidays, we collect gifts and toiletries and a special collection for Visons and Pathways, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to provide a variety of services to youth and young adults at risk of homelessness or maltreatment. Over 500 children, teens and families are assisted by the 80 Somerset Home staff members each year.
CAN (Community Action Network) Hillsborough Township Food Pantry: Each month the church collects food and household items for this important program.
Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP): SHIP is a grass-roots local organization that helps homeless people with meals, clothes, counseling and assistance. In addition to a designating offer, NRC provides financial support along with participation in S.H.I.P. service projects.
Souper Bowl of Caring: A simple prayer, "Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, hel us to be mindful of those who are without a bowl of soup to eat" is inspiring a youth-led movement to help hungry and hurting people throughout the world. On Super Bowl Sunday, our congregation collects canned goods and monetary donations supporting the Hillsborough Food Bank. Click here for more information.
Troop 1776 & Cub Scout Pack 1776, BSA: Neshanic Reformed Church is proud to be a chartered organization of Troop 1776 and Cub Scout Pack 1776. On Scout Sunday church members offer support to a fellow scout from Bangladesh.
The Midland Foundation: Founded in 1960 and located in North Branch, The Midland School offers a comprehensive special education program serving the needs of children with developmental disabilities. Currently serving 108 children (ages 3 through 21), their mission is to promote personal achievement and foster independence for children and adults by providing a range of innovative programs.
