SHIP UPDATE POST HURRICANE IDA:
Dear Friends of SHIP and the Needy,
The basement of the SHIP headquarters was totally submerged and 1st floor was under 4 feet of water. Some of the items destroyed include 5 freezers, 2 refrigerators, the buildings furnace and hot water heated, Airconditioning, 3 convection ovens, the basement ceiling collapsed, phone system, huge clothes closet, all condiments and tons of food. In other words we were clobbered. We had to hire a company to conduct an extensive clean up and they started on 9-7-2021. The estimated cost is $62,000.00.
We are currently unable to receive donations due to the clean-up and disinfecting process. When we are able to reopen and receive donations I will contact you.
