From the beginning, Neshanic Reformed Church embraced the task of bringing God’s message to the community and the world by sharing our time, talents and resources with those in need. Mission activities have always been a part of our church life.
Cancer Support Community of Central New Jersey: In a home-like setting offerings include professionally led support groups, educational programs, nutritional and healthy cooking workshops, healthy life-style programs and resources and opportunities to socialize with other individuals who understand the impact of cancer. Programs and services offered empower the individual diagnosed with cancer and the caregiver to take an active role in their journey with, through, and beyond cancer diagnosis. Christian Nurturing Center Preschool: An outreach of Neshanic Reformed Church since 1993 providing a Christian enviornment where children have the opportunity to learn and practice social and developemental skills through games, music, literature, free play and age-appropriate educational lessons. We hope the children come to realize the importance of God and worship in their lives.
CROP Walk: This annual walk sponsored by Church World Service gathers together local congregations to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.
Deacon’s Fund: This fund is supported several times a year and is managed by the Deacons of the Consistory. It is designed to allow NRC to help those in immediate need of financial support during special times.
Gift Collection: During the holidays, we collect gifts and toiletries for Somerset Home for Temporarily Displaced Children, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to provided a variety of services to youth and young adults at risk of homelessness or maltreatment. Over 500 children, teens and families are assisted by the 80 Somerset Home staff members each year.
Hillsborough Food Bank: Each month the church collects food and household items for this important program.
Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP): SHIP is a grass-roots local organization that helps homeless people with meals, clothes, counseling and assistance. In addition to a designating offer NRC also serves dinner once a week from the SHIP Mobile Soup Kitchen Truck.
Souper Bowl of Caring: A simple prayer, "Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, hel us to be mindful of those who are without a bowl of soup to eat" is inspiring a youth-led movement to help hungry and hurting people throughout the world. Summer Mission Project (SMP): Each summer, NRC has sent 20+ people to a less fortunate community to do home repairs and share our faith with that community.
Troop 1776 & Cub Scout Pack 1776, BSA: NRC is proud to be a chartered organization of Troop 1776 click here for website and Cub Scout Pack 1776. On Scout Sunday church members offer support to a fellow scout from Bangledesh.
Vacation Bible School: This is a significant community outreach program for our church. More than three-quarters of the over 100 children that participate are not members of the church. We have a great week with the kids learning about God’s love and living the life of a Christian.
Part of the Christian life is sharing; not only our resources but our faith. The Neshanic Reformed Church is committed to sharing God’s love with all, near and far.
